USB Interface Modules

Fylde USB interface modules convert your microAnalog 2 chassis into a complete USB data acquisition system.

The module not only handles the flow of the sampled data to the host computer, but also maintains the auto zero function for any installed transducer amplifiers.

USB technology is plug and play so your computer will automatically recognise the USB interface as a new device and install the software for it.

All systems accept a variety of plug in signal conditioning modules making them a powerful and versatile way to connect any transducer to a PC.

If you need a customised version, we are the designers and manufacturers of both the hardware and software so just contact us with your requirements and we will work with you to provide an optimised solution.

FE-813-USB 4 Channel

FE-813-USB Interface Module

The FE-813-USB module is for use with the Fylde FE-MM4 4 channel Micro-Analog 2 signal conditioning system. It provides the power supply for the signal conditioning modules, an auto-zero system for FE-366-TA bridge amplifier modules, and four channels of USB data acquisition. Data acquisition software for Windows operating systems is provided.

USB technology is plug and play so your computer will automatically recognise the FE-813-USB as a new device and install the software for it.

4 channel 16 bit A to D converters with USB 2.0 interface. 4 x 100 kS/s.

This module provides all the functions of the Auto Zero module, the USB interface and power supply.

The module can only be fitted in a FE-MM4 chassis.

Specification

  • Analogue Inputs: Quantity: 4 signals from two dual channel transducer interface modules.
  • Operating Range: ±10 V relative to Analogue 0 V. Note that these inputs signals remain available as system analogue outputs on the 9 way D connector at the rear of the FE-MM4.
  • Function: Auto zero for FE-366-TA channels.
  • Resolution: 16 bits.
  • Range: ±10 V.
  • Sampling Rate: Maximum 4 x 100 000 samples per second.
  • Offset: < ±5 mV.
  • Noise: < 2 mV pk-pk.
  • Crosstalk: -95 dB at 50 kS/s with 5k Hz sine wave input.
  • Absolute Gain Error: < 0.25 % (See Note 2).

FE-356-USB 8 Channel

FE-356-USB Interface Module

The FE-356-USB module makes the FE-MM8 into a complete USB data acquisition system.

The module not only handles the flow of the sampled data to the host computer, but also maintains the auto zero function for any installed transducer amplifiers.

USB technology is plug and play so your computer will automatically recognise the FE-356-USB as a new device and install the software for it.

8 channel 16 bit A to D converters with USB 1.1 interface. 8 x 50 kS/s.

This module provides all the functions of the Auto Zero module and the USB interface.

The module can only be fitted in a FE-MM8 chassis.

Specification

  • Analog Inputs: 8 ±10 V signals from four dual channel transducer interface modules.
  • Resolution: 16 bit.
  • Range: ±10 V.
  • Sampling Rate: Maximum 8 x 50 000 samples per second.

      FE-3540-USB 40 Channel

      FE-3540-USB Interface Module

This module provides a 40 channel A to D converter for the Fylde FE-MM40 system. 40 x 16 bit channels are converted and buffered in a local static RAM ready to be moved to the host computer by USB block transfer. The local memory prevents loss of data if the host cannot maintain a continuous block transfer rate. The USB device is the FTDI 2232H and a windows DLL is provided for developers. Also provided are a LabView driver with example programs, a console program with an example C++ program, and an application (Madaq40) which provides data acquisition for Windows computers. The module comprises a main card and a separate power supply card. The power supply accepts +12 V from a system power supply and produces +6V for the converter card. The cards are connected by two short 26 way ribbon cables. Power and signal inputs are carried by the ribbon cables. Digital inputs and outputs intended to control output are spare.

      Specification

      • Analog Inputs: 40 ±10V signals from twenty dual channel transducer interface modules.
      • Resolution: 16 bit.
      • Range: ±10V.
      • Sampling Rate: Maximum 40 x 10,000 samples per second.
      • Offset: < ±3mV.
      • Noise: < 2mV pk-pk.
      • Crosstalk: -95 dB at 10kS/s with 1kHz sine wave input.
      • Gain Error: < 0.1%.
      • USB Standard: USB Specification Revision 2.0.
      • Compatibility: Windows 7.1 or later.
