When it comes to our blade passing and tip timing system the FE-596-CDT4 we often get asked why we recommend our low noise triaxial cable, here are some test results to show exactly why.

We took a selection of cables

Injected interference using a 50R wire coil driven at 750kHz, chosen as the frequency most likely to cause interference with the carrier, for worst case.

Test results for Video cable with injected noise

Test results for RG174 Coaxial cable with injected noise

Test results for RG316 Coaxial cable with injected noise

Test results for Fylde Low Noise Coaxial cable with injected noise

When noise was injected into the cables, they performed as expected with performance ranked highest to lowest of triax, LN coax, RG316, RG174, video coax. As you can see moving down the list, there is an improvement for SNR for each cable type.
